Sheri Vindasius is adjusting to her new position as the Executive Director of Operation Sharing.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's the change of a lifetime for Operation Sharing's new Executive Director.
Sheri Vindasius dedicated over 30 years working in the funeral industry and decided she was ready to move on. That's when she started looking into the homelessness issue.
"So I just started researching and for whatever reason, it's just kind of been an interest that has formed into a passion. So I was just researching and I heard Shawn was stepping down and I applied to the position."
She was offered the Executive Director position about three weeks ago.
"It's been a wonderful transition. From exiting the funeral industry, I had a lot of support, and then entering this community. The staff and team here and the guests have been absolutely phenomenal!"
Now that she's in charge, Vindasius would to continue the good work Operation Sharing has been doing. She would like to bring in more funding, find more programs that could help people in our community, and continue to work with community partners to find more solutions to homelessness.
Vindasius would like to thank everyone who attended Woodstock's Coldest Night of the Year event on Saturday.
"It was such a beautiful ceremony. Scott McKauge and his team did phenomenal! All of the walkers, supporters, sponsors, team captains, everybody that contributed in some way, it was just amazing!"
The event raised $159,228 for Operation Sharing as of this morning.
