OPP Briefs including an impaired driving charge and police seeking information about a collision on Oxford Road 8
A 26 year old man from Southwest Oxford has been charged with driving while impaired.
Last Tuesday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. the Middlesex OPP were tipped off about a possible impaired driver.
Officers found the silver Jeep SUV stopped in the middle of Pigram Line, with the driver slumped over in the driver's seat.
Police say they determined the man had in fact been drinking and he was placed under arrest and taken to the London Police detachment for breath tests.
He was released on a Promise to appear in the new year.
The OPP are looking for any information about a collision on Oxford Road 8 west of Washington in Blandford-Blenheim.
Police were called out around 5:30 p.m. last Thursday night. When they arrived on the scene a woman had to be extracted from the vehicle.
Through investigation they found the vehicle had been travelling westbound when it collided with a trailer also travelling westbound carrying bales of hay. They believe the trailer was a red or orange older style farm tractor that failed to remain on the scene.
The woman as taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Plattsville Fire Department also came out to assist.
Anyone with information is asked to call Oxford OPP or Crime Stoppers.
