MITCHELL - Perth OPP have charged a 52 year old man with assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after a nasty case of road rage.
Police were called to the intersection of Ontario Road and St. David Street in Mitchell on Friday afternoon. A Dodge SUV cut off a motorcycle on Hwy 8 and caused the motorcycle driver to brake quickly and pass the SUV to avoid a collision. Apparently the driver of the SUV then proceeded to ride the behind the biker and made numerous attempts to pass. Eventually the biker pulled over and the two drivers got into a heated argument. The fight ended when the driver of the SUV assaulted the motorcycle rider.
He was arrested and charged with assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
WEST PERTH - A 23 year old man from West Perth is facing a number of charges after police pulled him over early Sunday morning.
OPP say they pulled over a pickup truck on Line 52 North of Rostock while on general patrol. They say the man had trouble getting out of his vehicle and was showing obvious signs of impairment.
After failing two intoxilyzer breath tests the man was charged with impaired driving. He was also charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood and being a novice driver Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero.
