The Pride flag at Emily Stowe Public School has been vandalized twice in the past couple of weeks.
NORWICH - The OPP is looking for witnesses as it investigates two cases of Pride flag vandalism at Emily Stowe Public School in Norwich.
Police say two people damaged the flag at around 12:30 a.m. this past Sunday. Two people also removed the flag and burned it at around 11:30 p.m. on Friday May 16th.
The Township released a statement earlier this week saying this type of vandalism has no place in our community. It will be raising the Pride flag on it's community flag pole outside the Norwich Community Centre today and it will remain there until June 6th.
Every Oxford County municipality will fly the rainbow flag in honour of Pride Month. An official flag raising ceremony will be taking place at the Oxford County Administration Building in Woodstock at 11:30 a.m. today and members of the public are welcome to attend.
#OxfordOPP is asking the public to please come forward with any information regarding this incident. These investigations are taken very seriously. Together, we can help make our communities more safe and secure. ^rc pic.twitter.com/aL73amMr6g
