Two officers and an inmate were taken to hospital yesterday after a tractor trailer rear-ended a prisoner transport van on the eastbound 401 in South-West Oxford Township.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP - Three men had to be taken to hospital after a transport truck rear-ended a prisoner transport van on the 401 just west of Sweaburg Road.
Oxford OPP say the collision occurred in the eastbound shoulder lane shortly after 4pm yesterday when the van slowed down due to traffic congestion. The transport truck was hauling two trailers at the time.
The male inmate was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries, alongside two male officers who sustained minor injuries. The third female officer was not injured and neither was the driver of the transport truck.
OPP say charges are pending as they continue their investigation. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them 1-888-310-1122.
