"My town is not your personal race track."
INGERSOLL - Oxford OPP are going to be increasing the amount of radar they do in the Town of Ingersoll.
Several residents have been complaining about speeding vehicles in the Ingersoll Street and Culloden Road area in Ingersoll. Police are reminding drivers that the roadways are not your own personal speed track. Officers will be out in full force clocking speeders and handing out tickets until the message gets across.
In the past two months police have issued 44 tickets on Ingersoll street alone. Most of the tickets were for speeding and disobeying the stop signs.
It is everyone's duty to drive responsibly and police are re-enforcing this message.
Drivers need to slow down and put safety as a priority, every time they get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. People have the ability to help positively influence the behaviour change that is needed on the part of those drivers who still put other innocent drivers at risk. Drivers putting their safety and innocent motorists at risk can expect to be charged.
