A total of 1,175 students from 652 families across Oxford County benefitted from the Supplies4Students program this year.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was another successful Supplies4Students campaign for United Way Oxford.
A total of 1,175 students from across the county received gift cards to help with their back-to-school shopping this year. This is thanks to donations from local residents, businesses, churches, as well as labour and employee groups.
Executive Director Kelly Gilson says Supplies4Students made a tangible difference for the 652 families who registered for the program this year.
The Supplies4Students program first started back in 2016, helping Oxford County students in financial need within the Thames Valley District School Board, the London District Catholic School Board, and CSC Providence. It's a partnership between United Way Oxford and Staples locations in Woodstock and Tillsonburg, as well as the Giant Tiger locations in Woodstock and Ingersoll.
