Peter Crockett says he is humbled to be nominated for the CEO HR Champion at the Canadian HR Awards
The CAO of Oxford County is a finalist for the CEO HR Champion at the Canadian Human Resources Awards being handed out in September.
Peter Crockett says he was surprised to be nominated and shocked to be named one of 11 CEO's that are a finalist for the award. He tells Heart FM all of the credit belongs to his staff and says this award is because of everyone's hard work.
"It's great. It's humbling. It's great for me from a personal standpoint but I cannot overstate the fact that this all wouldn't have happened if not for the commitment from staff, council, and the organization in terms of all the work that we've done."
Crockett says, "Some of the things staff has done to earn the nomination is develop 'Our People, Our Strength' which is basically the human resources outline for the next four years and out of that we've began to lay out the competency framework for our staff and their positions. So they now have some clarity as to what we expect from everybody and what we expect from our leadership."
He says with council's blessing they also developed the leadership development program for future leaders in Oxford County.
"We're now embarking on a leadership program for our future leaders in our organization to strengthen what we've got and to build the future. It's a great time from an organization standpoint, and from a human resource standpoint we are taking a serious look as to how we can affect the growth of our organization."
A film crew recently came to the County to film a feature which will be shown at the awards show in September.
