OXFORD COUNTY - An early look at the fiscal year end is indicating Oxford County may be facing a deficit of almost $3 million dollars.
Council was told that the pandemic has severely impacted revenues. Municipalities are the only level of government that is not allowed to run a deficit so any shortfall will have to be covered in the 2021 budget.
One way to offset the red ink is to use surpluses that the County has stored away for emergencies.
