The Oxford Renaissance Festival is getting a ten thousand dollar boost from the City of Woodstock . Council approved a one time special grant for the festival to help with advertising and promotion as part of the City's Community Grants Policy. Festival Director Greg Schuurman says it makes sense the City wants him to advertise outside of Woodstock. "I am like them, I don't want it to be a one-off, I want it to be an annual event for the city to bring in tourism and to bring in all kinds of people into the City of Woodstock." A minimum of 80 percent of the grant must be spent on regional advertising reaching markets outside of the County in order to appease council. The festival is slated for June 14-16 at the Woodstock Fair Grounds.
