The City of Woodstock has lots of events scheduled for Parks and Rec Month.
City staff have planned numerous events throughout each week in order to mark the occasion.
Supervisor of Recreation Programs, Grants and Sponsorships Emma Vondervoort tells Heart FM there will be something for everyone.
"We have Family Fitness going on over the month, Sportsball, yoga for all ages, the World Wide Knit in Public Day and swimming on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings during the recreational swim for $2 a swim."
Vondervoort says students won't have to cut class in order to get in on the fun.
"All of the plans right now if they are during the week are after school hours so the children are able to participate in them."
The festivities will begin today with Basketball Awareness Day at Park Row. All events will encourage people to get out and be active before summer arrives.
