PRINCETON - The annual Cemetery Decoration Day and memorial service is being organized in Princeton on Sunday.
The event will be held at the Princeton cemetery, followed by a light lunch.
Volunteer Edna Williamson says it has been put on for close to 20 years.
"We will have a piper to play a reveille and we have a young girl coming to sing a couple of songs, and we'll have a retired minister to give us a message and we do some laying of the wreaths from the different groups in the village, and one certainly from of the veterans."
Williamson says they initially started collecting money at the gate voluntarily, up until a few years ago. The funds would be put towards improving the cemetery, including a new fence. She adds the Township now looks after the repairs.
She says it's about getting the community together and paying respect to their loved ones.
"The service will probably be about three quarters of an hour and there's a light lunch of some cold drinks and some cookies."
The ceremony will be at 2:30pm.
