The Merchants are in first place in the Doherty Division standings. The Navy Vets are in third place and the Braves sit in seventh place.
PJHL - The regular season of the PJHL has come to an end and the Norwich Merchants are on top of the Doherty Division standings.
They celebrated three wins over the long weekend; 6-1 against the Woodstock Navy Vets on Friday, 6-4 over the Paris Titans on Sunday, and 11-2 over the Tavistock Braves yesterday.
The Navy Vets also suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the New Hamburg Firebirds yesterday, finishing in third place in the division standings. It was Colton Thomson's first junior game in net for the Navy Vets, and he was able to make 37 saves against the Firebirds. Over 900 fans packed Southwood Arena for the matinee matchup on Family Day.
The Braves beat the Shamrocks 3-2 on Friday, but they also suffered a 3-0 loss to Hespeler on Sunday. Tavistock finished in seventh place in the division standings.
The Braves will now battle the Firebirds in the Doherty Division quarterfinals, while the Merchants face the Shamrocks and the Navy Vets take on the Paris Titans.
The Thamesford Trojans didn't have any games over the weekend and they're sitting in sixth place in the Yeck Division standings. The division quarterfinal schedule has not been released yet.
