It was a busy long weekend for Oxford County's Doherty Division Junior C hockey teams.
PJHL - The Woodstock Navy Vets remain one point behind the New Hamburg Firebirds in the Doherty Division standings.
Woodstock suffered a 5-1 loss to New Hamburg on Friday, with Cole Dann scoring the only goal for the Vets.
The Vets were able to bounce back with a 4-1 victory over the Wellesley Applejacks on Saturday and a 4-0 win over the Paris Titans yesterday. Over 1,100 people packed Southwood Arena for the Family Day matchup.
It was a rough weekend for the Tavistock Braves after they fell to the Applejacks 3-2 on Friday and suffered a 1-0 loss to the Hespeler Shamrocks on Sunday.
The Norwich Merchants beat the Titans 5-4 on Friday, but suffered a 10-4 loss to the Shamrocks on Saturday.
The Navy Vets are in second place in the Doherty Division standings with 63 points, while the Firebirds sit in first place with 64 points. The Braves are in third place with 47 points, and the Merchants are in fourth place with 40 points.
The Thamesford Trojans didn't have any games over the long weekend. They're currently in second place in the Yeck Division standings with 59 points, one point behind the Mount Brydges Bulldogs with 60 points.
