The Norwich Merchants celebrated two wins over the weekend.
PJHL - It was a great weekend for the Norwich Merchants.
They celebrated a 5-2 victory over the Woodstock Navy Vets at Nor-Del Arena on Friday, and went on to beat the Hespeler Shamrocks 4-2 yesterday.
The Woodstock Navy Vets had the rest of the weekend off, while the Tavistock Braves had the entire weekend off.
The Merchants lead the Doherty Division standings with 36 points, and they're followed by the New Hamburg Firebirds with 35 points and the Navy Vets with 29 points. The Wellesley Applejacks sit in fourth place with 26 points, the Dorchester Dolphins sit in fifth place with 22 points, the Braves are tied with the Paris Titans for sixth place with 17 points each, and the Shamrocks sit in last place with 11 points.
Over in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to the Mount Brydges Bulldogs on Friday and a 4-3 overtime loss to the Exeter Hawks on Saturday.
The Trojans are tied for third place in the Yeck Division standings with 26 points. The Port Stanley Sailors and the North Middlesex Stars also have 26 points each, while the Petrolia Flyers sit in second place with 32 points and the Hawks sit in first place with 33 points.
