PJHL - All of Oxford County's Junior C hockey teams hit the ice over the weekend as the PJHL season got underway.
The Woodstock Navy Vets suffered an 8-2 loss to the Firebirds New Hamburg Friday night, but bounced back with a 3-2 victory over the Norwich Merchants in their home opener at Southwood Arena Saturday night.
The Merchants celebrated a 4-3 win over the Wellesley Applejacks in their home opener at Nor-Del Arena Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Tavistock Braves crushed the Mounties 4-0 in their home opener Friday night and narrowly beat the Shamrocks in Hespeler 2-1 yesterday.
The Thamesford Trojans also beat the Spitfires 6-2 in their home opener on Friday and demolished the Mount Brydges Bulldogs 6-0 yesterday.
