Over 400 people attended a church service in Aylmer on Sunday and then dozens of people attended a "Family Freedom" protest in Stratford, where access to the park was blocked off by police.

STRATFORD - Stratford Police and the town of Stratford blocked protestors from gathering downtown.

The "Family Freedom" event called for a peaceful assembly at the Upper Queens Park in Stratford on Sunday. They had several guest speakers, live music and a DJ.

Police blocked access to the area downtown and they had bulldozers in place to block people from getting to the park. Organizers shifted gear at the last minute and hosted the event at the parking lot near Shakespeare Park.

Independent MP Derek Sloan and Independent MPP Randy Hillier spoke at the event that also featured craft brewer, Dr. Steven Innocente and Registered Practical nurse from Stratford Tina Logan.

Dozens of protestors attended the rally.

Sloan and Hillier were also at an Aylmer Church service this Sunday with the Church of God and controversial pastor Henry Hildebrant. Over 400 people attended the church service in Aylmer and three people have been charged by police.
