
What appeared to be a firearm, turned out to be a pellet gun.
INGERSOLL - There is no threat to public safety after the OPP responded to a weapons call in Ingersoll.
Officers responded to several 911 calls about a person walking around with what appeared to be a firearm on Carroll Street at around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
They were able to find the person and discovered that the weapon was a pellet gun.
In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page, Sergeant Ed Sanchuk said this person should have used common sense.
"If you're going to walk down the street with something that appears to be a firearm in your hand, I can guarantee you that it's going to illicit a large police response. This is taken very seriously."
He also thanked all of the residents on Carroll Street for their patience during this investigation.
