Police negotiators were able to safely talk a man in distress off a hydro tower in Stratford.
STRATFORD - Power in the Stratford are was turned off this morning after a man climbed a 100 foot hydro tower.
This morning Stratford Police were called by a family member of the 27 year old man who reported him missing since 1:30 a.m. Officers found the man perched on the tower at Perth Line 122.
Hydro One shut off the power while negotiators were brought in to talk with the man who was obviously in crisis. North Perth Fire Department, Stratford Fire Department, Perth County EMS, Hydro One, and Perth County OPP were all there to offer support.
The negotiators got through to the man who agreed to come down with the help of the fire departments. The man has been taken to Stratford Hospital.
Once the man was safe the power was turned on and the roadway was reopened.
No charges have been laid at this time.
