Two events happening Saturday in the County
It's time to head to the medicine cabinet and clean out any unused or expired medication.
A pair of Prescription Drug Drop off events are being held today in the County, one in Tillsonburg, the other in Woodstock.
OPP Constable Lisa Narancsik says the event helps minimize risks.
"Prescription drugs can lead to issues of theft, they can lead to issues to inappropriate use. So it could be inappropriate use, abuse or storage so we just want to reduce the accessibility for people who maybe shouldn't be using the prescription drugs."
"We have had people drop off illegal drugs too. Sometimes people find things and they're not even sure what it is. If someone happens to pass away and you have to dispose of the medications for those reasons, we will take them and we have pharmacists who actually go through the medication."
The Tillsonburg event runs from 10-3pm at the Canadian Tire Parking lot, while the Woodstock event is in the Staples parking lot from 9-1pm.
City Police say an elderly residents unable to bring in their medication can call the police station to make other arrangements.
