The Gunn's Hill Limited chooses project in Norwich Township to receive their community fund
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - The Gunn's Hill Limited Partnership has selected the first recipient of their Community Fund; just in time for Earth Day.
Miranda Fuller is the Executive Director of the Oxford Community Energy Cooperative. She says the money will be going to a project in Norwich Township this year.
"We have selected the Hodges Pond Re-Naturalization Project that's in Norwich Ontario. They'll be receiving $25,000 to go towards trail development, bird habitats and eco learning and experiential learning opportunities."
Fuller says they wanted to select a project that would benefit Woodstock, Norwich and the rest of Oxford County.
"It's about turning that stream back into a cold water stream. As much as it will impact the ecosystem and the habitats around the water system, it will also increase and improve the water quality for all of the water that flows into Cedar Creek which will have a great impact for everyone in Oxford County."
The Gunn's Hill Limited Partnership plans to give out the Community Fund on a yearly basis, using revenue dollars generated by the Gunn's Hill Wind Farm.
