County Council has appointed Warden Mayberry to the Thames-Sydenham and Region Source Protection Committee.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Thames-Sydenham and Region Source Protection Committee will have new representation from the county of Oxford. Oxford County Council has appointed Warden David Mayberry to the committee.
Mayberry tells Heart FM it is the committee's job to protect the water in the Thames-Sydenham water basin.
"It looks at how do we carefully and with the name of good stewardship make sure that we take care of the resource for future generations."
Mayberry says he is looking forward to sitting on the committee.
"I'm interested in water quality and environmental issues, but you always want to balance those with the economic needs of the community as well."
Former Woodstock Mayor Pat Sobeski used to represent Oxford on the committee before he passed away this past March at the age of 64.
