The positivity rate today is 3.3% and it is the lowest daily number this year and the 10th day in a row the numbers have been below 2,000.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,022 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 280,494. The positivity rate today is 3.3%.
The Province also announced 17 new COVID-19 related deaths bringing the total to 6,555. Another 1,388 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 259,991. The Province has confirmed 8 new cases of the UK variant today, bringing the total to 227 and 1 case of the South African variant bringing that total to 3.
The province completed 30,798 tests yesterday. We currently have 909 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 318 people in the ICU and 223 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases are coming from hot spot regions with 343 new cases in Toronto, 250 in Peel and 128 in York Region.
