The Province of Ontario confirmed another 157 cases of COVID-19 today and an additional 17 deaths. The number of people in the hospital from the virus continues a downward trend and currently sits at 213.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 157 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, which is a 0.5% increase and brings the total number of cases in the Province to 35,068.
The Province also confirmed another 17 deaths bringing the total number of people who have died from the virus to 2,672 have died from COVID-19 in Ontario and 1,710 of those deaths were residents in Long Term Care Homes. Meanwhile another 148 people have made a full recovery, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 30,344.
5,473 of the COVID-19 cases in Ontario since the pandemic started were residents of Long Term Care Homes and 2,284 cases are from health care workers.
We currently have 213 COVID-19 patients in the hospital, 42 are in the ICU and 34 are in the ICU on a ventilator. The Province completed 23,759 tests yesterday.
