Ontario is starting the week with just under 2,000 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 2,448 resolved cases.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,958 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 256,960.
The total number of deaths connected to COVID-19 in Ontario after the weekend is 5,846. Meanwhile another 2,448 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 227,294.
The province completed 35,968 tests yesterday. We currently have 1,398 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 397 people in the ICU and 283 in the ICU on a ventilator. These numbers are not completely accurate with 10% of hospitals in Ontario not reporting their data from the weekend.
The areas with biggest increases today include 727 new cases in Toronto, 365 in Peel and 157 in York Region.
