TILLSONBURG - The Province of Ontario is investing $300,000 in Tillsonburg Tube.
Local MPP Ernie Hardeman made the announcement today. The money is part of a $2 million investment by Tillsonburg Tube to strengthen the domestic manufacturing sector and attract new investments to the local economy. This will also help create 5 new jobs.
The project will allow Tillsonburg Tube to build an addition to their plant to accommodate the integration of Fibre Optic Laser Tube cutting equipment. Hardeman says the Conservative Government continues to send the message that Ontario is open for business.
"Since taking office, our government has sent a clear message that Ontario is open for business and open for jobs. We're creating an environment where businesses can focus on what they do best – developing great products and services and building successful companies. It’s great to see Tillsonburg Tube invest in new technology and grow its market share while creating jobs and boosting the economy of Oxford and Ontario."
Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Vic Fedeli says Ontario is proud to be working with Tillsonburg Tube Inc. to expand their manufacturing capabilities and create good, local jobs.
"We look forward to seeing more of these kinds of private-sector investments that are creating the conditions for long-term regional economic growth. We thank Tillsonburg Tube Inc. for contributing to our province’s dynamic and growing manufacturing sector and economic recovery."
President and Owner o Tillsonburg Tube Keith Prince says they will put this money to good use.
"This funding is a major piece to our growth plan here in Tillsonburg. It will help us grow and modernize our facility and provide top quality job opportunities for the area now and in the future. We couldn't have implemented our plan without it."
