County will look not only the price of a tender but also the life expectancy
When it comes to winning a tender with the County it's going to take more than just the best price.
Council approved a change to their purchasing agreement Wednesday which would also factor in life cycle expectations and costs.
The idea was brought forth by councillor David Mayberry who said just because something costs less doesn't mean it's the best quality and may actually end up costing more over time.
The new agreement states the prime selection criteria will be price costing and life cycle costs prior to any special provisions.
