The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a mayoral candidates debate on October 12th and members of the public have until September 26th to send in any questions they have.
WOODSTOCK - Voters in Woodstock can now submit questions for an upcoming mayoral debate hosted by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce.
It's going to be happening at the Royal Canadian Legion on Dundas Street on the morning of Wednesday, October 12th from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. General Manager Kim Whitehead says they're only going to focus on the mayoral candidates at this event.
"It's important that we get a chance to ask business-related questions to the mayoral candidates since they will be spending time most of their time with city staff."
Whitehead says they have received confirmation from five of the six candidates that they will be in attendance.
Brent VanParys will be the moderator and he will be asking all of the questions. Members of the public have until September 26th to e-mail any questions they have to gm@woodstockchamber.ca. All of the questions will be vetted by a committee and the business-related ones will be prioritized.
Whitehead says the debate will be open to the public.
"It is first come first serve. We have limited space so whoever is there first will get a seat. We will have coffee, muffins, and pastries available since it will be bright and early in the morning."
