Following a 4 day break in the Michael Rafferty trial, the case resumes this morning. During the first thirty-one days of testimony the jury listened to some sixty witnesses ? many of them specialists in their own field as well as several of Michael Rafferty?s girlfriends he once dated in the spring of 2009. An opening statement from the Defense is expected this week, but it?s not known what evidence Dirk Derstine will be using to defend Rafferty or if Rafferty himself will take the witness stand in his own defense. Depending on the amount of time Derstine needs to plead his case, a verdict may be heard by the middle of May. Rafferty has pled not guilty of 1stdegree murder, kidnapping and sexually assault causing bodily harm of 8 year old Tori Stafford in April 2009. The trial resumes at 10AM.
