They also seized nearly $300,000 worth of substances.

NORWICH - The RCMP dismantled a drug lab in the Norwich area and seized close to $300,000 worth of substances.

The RCMP has been investigating this since November 2025, after the Canada Border Services Agency reported suspicious imports made by a Delhi man and his business, Cam Valley Farms. It is alleged that since the summer of 2024, the man imported more than 1500 kg of a chemical that could be used to make GHB, along with several large pieces of laboratory equipment to help with its production.

In January 2026, search warrants were executed, and that’s what led the RCMP to capture the $300,000 of GHB, 39 kg of controlled precursors, lab equipment, chemical glassware, and approximately 1000 kg of chemicals that can produce up to $9 million of substances.

According to the government of Canada, GHB is a substance that acts as a depressant; it slows down and calms the activity of your nervous system. Some doctors can prescribe it for serious sleep disorders, but it can also be made in illegal labs and sold illegally. It is also commonly known as a date-rape drug, with it being tasteless, odourless and colourless, it can be easily slipped into drinks without individuals noticing.

As a result, 41-year-old Kenneth Camacho of Delhi was arrested and charged with production of a controlled substance, possession of chemicals and equipment for the purpose of producing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The full release from the RCMP can be found here.
