People are being asked to commemorate Remembrance Day at home this year with invite only ceremonies in Woodstock and Ingersoll. They will have a ceremony at the cenotaph in Tillsonburg.
OXFORD COUNTY - You can honour Canadian soldiers past and present across Oxford County today by wearing poppies and having a moment of silence at 11:00 am.
Heart FM will be airing our traditional Remembrance Day program at 10:52 and it is a great way pay your respects.
Normally the three biggest ceremonies in Oxford County would be happening in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg. Things are little bit different this year because of COVID-19.
In Woodstock, they are having a special invite only ceremony at Goff Hall. The iconic Harvard planes will flyover the City at the cenotaph and Goff Hall thanks once again to the sponsorship from the Miller family
Over in Ingersoll, they have already filmed the official remembrance Day ceremony. The Legion will also have something in their parking lot but it also by invite only.
Tillsonburg meanwhile is moving forward with their traditional ceremony at the cenotaph. They are asking residents to stay home but will not turn anyone away. If you do attend the ceremony in Tillsonburg, please respect physical distancing and wear a mask.
All of the ceremonies are being filmed and will air on the local Rogers TV channel throughout the Day. The Woodstock one will be carried live at 10:45 am. It will also be avaiable via Rogers stream for free.
