Woodstock Police showed up in time to catch a robber trying to steal prescription drugs from the Shoppers Drug Mart on Van Ave.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police were called out to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Van Ave today after getting a call about a robbery in progress.
Police arrived in time to catch the man and were able to recover several stolen items including prescription drugs. Listeners to Heart FM who witnessed the incident say the man could be seen taken away from the drug store by police around 12:30 this afternoon.
The 30 year old transient man is being held for a bail hearing in Provincial Court on June 14, 2017 and will answer to Robbery and Breach of Probation charges.
Police did not release his name at this time.

Woodstock Police say the unarmed man immediately went to the pharmacy and demanded prescription narcotics. Pharmacy staff gave the man the drugs.
