Hundreds of people came out to the 2nd annual Run Ingersoll Spring into summer to support the Fusion Youth Centre.
INGERSOLL - Run Ingersoll Sprint into summer was a huge success for the Fusion Youth Centre.
The event raised $6,000 for the youth activity and technology centre. Assistant Manager Craig Boddy tells Heart FM what they will do with the money raised.
"It goes directly back into the youth centre, so it helps fund our specialized programs, program supplies and activities and events and it goes directly back into the youth."
Hundreds of people participated in the run this year and they had a great turnout despite the fact it happened on the same day as Ingersoll Day at the Rogers Centre.
"It was important to me to support an event that benefits the lives of young people in the community. Ingersoll provided me many positive opportunities while growing up, and it is great to be involved with a group like the Fusion Center who continue to provide local programs. Congratulations to the Fusion Center team on a successful event!"
-Gareth Musico, Account Director for HUMAN CONTACT Inc.
"Unifor Local 88 would like to congratulate all the participants and say THANK YOU to all the volunteers that made the Run Ingersoll: Sprint into Summer event a success. The money raised is going to the Fusion Youth Centre which plays a big role in our community in supporting youth activities. Job well done!"
-Dan Borthwick, President of Unifor Local 88
"Ingersoll Pharmasave is proud to support Run Ingersoll in support of Fusion. Sport and athletics are key in the battle against rising levels of obesity in our community. A place to gather and belong is key to promoting good mental health and confidence in our youth. Run Ingersoll in support of Fusion brings both of these to life!"
-Rob Parsons, Owner/Pharmacist of Ingersoll Pharmasave
"Ingersoll Paper Box congratulates everyone who ran in the Sprint into Summer Run in support of the Fusion Activity and Technology Centre. Ingersoll Paper Box is committed to our community and its youth, we are proud of all the runners who ran for such a good cause."
-Sarah Skinner, President of Ingersoll Paper Box
