It will feature 30 pairings this year and early tickets are available until the end of the month.
WOODSTOCK - Early bird tickets are on sale for the 8th annual Runway of Stars, all in support of Woodstock and District Developmental Services (WDDS).
It will be taking place at the Oxford Auditorium on Thursday May 7th this year with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
Communications Coordinator and Fund Developer Krystan Maclean says it's not your typical fashion show.
"A bunch of people who are supported by WDDS walk down the runway in local fashion from local retailers. So we go there, we shop, we get what's new and good, we showcase it on the runway, and the models get to keep the clothes afterward thanks to our generous sponsors. We pair them up with community models that have been nominated by other people in the community."
She tells us more about some of the community models that will be hitting the runway.
"These are first responders, educators, local politicians, health care workers, and people who are community who are positively contributing to the fabric. That could be volunteers or business owners who go above and beyond because we want to celebrate them as well!"
There will be 30 pairings this year and they will be wearing fashion from Roberts and Co, Giant Tiger, Zabians, Hometown Style, On Tred, and Goodwill.
The spectators will be seated in tables of 10 around the stage in a U shape, and appetizer-style foods will be served throughout the evening. Those who attend will also enjoy live music from Zach Fullerson and John Nathaniel.
It was announced on the Heart FM Morning Show today that our very own Dan Henry and Marcie Culbert will be the emcees for the evening.
Early bird tickets are currently on sale $60 each or $550 for a table of 10. The price will increase on March 1st to $65 each or $650 for a table of 10. Tickets can be purchased through the Runway of Stars website or by visiting the WDDS office on Bysham Park Drive in Woodstock.
