Marcus Ryan files for Ward 3 Councillor in Zorra Township.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - The desire to have a solid and secure future for Zorra Township was just one reason Marcus Ryan filed papers for Ward 3 Councillor.
Ryan says he has always been a political junkie. "I became really involved in the Save AJ Baker Group over the last year and a half, and the longer I was involved with that group the more I realized I was more interested in those issues from the prospective of our community then I was from the school board, and I wanted to do more of those things for our community so I decided to file."
Ryan says the Save AJ Baker situation, and integrating schools into our communities better so we hopefully don't have to go through possible closures again, is among the big issues facing Ward 3.
"The other one is more Zorra general and that's the landfill in the south end of Zorra and how, as a community, we want to proceed with that. What are the big questions about how our community feels about that? How do we make our decision as a community about how we feel about that?"
Ryan believes council needs to reach out to the people and involve them more. He suggests posting council agendas and meetings on Facebook and Twitter.
The municipal election is Monday, October 27, 2014.
