Oxford County Pork Producers is doing their part to feed the hungry.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Pork Producers are donating $1000 worth of pork sausages to the Salvation Army food bank. All of the pork donated will be made from local pork.
Member of the Oxford County Pork Producers Tom Murray explains their reasoning behind the donation.
"We want to promote our product and to help people who are less fortunate and maybe once they turn around and are more fortunate they will buy our product."
Murray adds the Salvation Army is thrilled with the donation.
"We have done this in the past, we h
aven't done it for a few years. Lot's of people are very generous over Christmas so we try and stay away from Christmas. They are ecstatic at what we are doing"
The donation will be made Thursday, October,19th at 2PM.
The Oxford County Pork Producers are planning on donating another thousand dollars worth of pork products in the new year.
