Heart FM's Blair Wilson was staffing the Heart FM Newsdesk on the fateful morning of March 27, 2011. It was seemingly just another quiet Sunday morning, until Wilson spotted smoke rising off in the distance out the radio station's window. At first guessing there was a fire at the Purina plant, Wilson grabbed a station recorder and his own digital camera. Wilson arrived to a scene of mayhem on Victoria St. South, where a 3-level apartment building had exploded, leaving a gaping inferno in a row of apartments. After speaking to some of the bystanders on the scene, Wilson called Jeremy Smith back in Heart FM Master Control and described what he was seeing live on the air, a scene of chaos. Here's Blair Wilson's initial report from that morning along with the raw footage he shot that morning. iFrame
