Emergency crews continue to search the Nith River in New Hamburg for missing boy.
Emergency crews are searching the Nith River again today in New Hamburg after a young boy went missing.
According to reports, neighbours say the boy is under five years old. He left his parent's house without a jacket and headed down towards the river.
Rescue workers followed footprints in the snow that lead them down to a hole by the frozen river's edge. No footprints were discovered leading away from the water.
Crews searched the river Thursday until it was too dark and are back in the water searching this morning.
Police are utilizing the New Hamburg division of the Royal Canadian Legion as a command centre to co-ordinate the search and rescue effort.
