Woodstock Man Arrested after fleeing the scene of two accidents in Downtown Woodstock
WOODSTOCK - Nobody was injured after two hit and run crashes in the span of a couple of minutes in Woodstock in the area of Dundas and Huron Street.
Police were called after one of the cars involved left the scene of an accident. After investigating police determined a man driving a white Nissan was speeding, revving his engine and fishtailing when he turned a corner North onto Huron St. The vehicle traffic was high at the time and there were several pedestrians in the area.
He eventually lost control of the car and hit another vehicle with three occupants inside, none of them were injured. The driver then left the area without checking to see if the people were ok and then proceeded to get into another crash a short while later, this time with a tree. That crash happened in the area of Knightsbridge Road. Once again the man fled the scene, this time he left his license plate behind after the collision with the tree.
Woodstock Police were able to catch up with him a short while later on Blossom Park Rd. 49 year old Douglas Passek has been charged with impaired driving, fail to stop at the scene of an accident and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. There was over $10,000 combined damage to both vehicles and property.
