One man has been taken to the hospital in Tillsonburg with serious injuries after a single vehicle crash on Mall Road this afternoon.
TILLSONBURG - A driver is facing serious injuries after a single vehicle rollover on Mall Road near Tillsonburg.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says the car left the roadway this afternoon.
"I can tell you the car entered the ditch, hit a pole and then rolled several times. The driver has been taken to a hospital in Tillsonburg with serious injuries. I don't have the status on that as of yet."
Sanchuk says the driver is very fortunate to be alive and this could be a different story if witnesses didn't show up on the scene.
"We just want to take this opportunity to thank the witnesses along with the off duty firefighter from Tillsonburg who tended to the driver and they were able to safely remove him from the vehicle."
Mall Road will be closed for the next couple of hours to allow for a police investigation. Sanchuk did say that speed and alcohol appear to contributing factors.
