The scam involves a text that will ask you to click on a link to get a refund for your Ontario licence plate sticker.

Police are warning the public about a text scam making the rounds locally.

The text will ask you to click on a link to get a refund for your Ontario licence plate sticker. Police are reminding the public that Service Ontario does not send refunds through text.

If you get a text like this, just delete it and do not click on the link. It is most definitely a scam.

To see if you qualify for a licence plate sticker refund visit ServiceOntario.ca. If so, they will mail it to your home.
