Golf enthusiasts better not put the clubs away for the winter as several courses are still open until the snow begins.
OXFORD COUNTY - Those looking to hit the putting green in December have the opportunity in Oxford County.
With this mild weather we have been experiencing many golf courses are still open for business until the snow starts flying. Owner of Mount Elgin Golf Course, Theo Versteegh, explains how everything has gone at his establishment. "It has been excellent! November and December have been much better than what they were last year the weather has been great and we are looking to stay open as long as we can." Those looking to continue to practice their swing can continue right up until Christmas as double digits temperatures are expected to return.
Versteegh talks about how business has been throughout the fall. "We haven't been able to do the business that we have been able to do this year because the weather wasn't as good, but hopefully this will help my bottom line. Last year we still had golfers out on December 28th." While the weather may not be so good for winter sports, such as skiing, many are braving the cooler elements in order to perfect their skills.
