You can now sign up for the very first Coldest Night of the Year walk in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock is set to host it's very first Coldest Night of the Year.
The walk shines a light on homelessness across country and Event Director Scott McKague says the money raised in the Friendly City on February 20th will stay in the community.
"We have a pretty lofty goal right now money wise. We're trying to raise $20,000 and it's all going to The Inn of Oxford which is funded by Operation Sharing."
You can sign up for the 2 kilometre or the 5 kilometre routes and McKague says there will be COVID-19 safety protocols in effect.
"We will be following all COVID mandated requirements for the night of the event; full physical distancing, masks required and staggered start times for walk groups so people aren't in a big bunch."
You can also sign up for a virtual event and walk by yourself.
Participants who raise more than $150 for the cause will receive Coldest Night of the Year swag, including a CNOY toque.
The Coldest Night of the Year started in Kitchener-Waterloo 11 years ago and it now takes place in over 150 communities across Canada.
You can find more information and sign up for the Woodstock walk online here.
