The Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Oxford County have raised $30,000 for the VON Sakura House.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Shoppers Drug Marts stores in Oxford County have raised $30,000 for VON Sakura House.
Money was raised through a Spring Gala where customers came for all kinds of facials and beauty products and then in the Fall they had the Shoppers Love You campaign.
Owner of the Shoppers in Woodstock Lisa Silverthorn says they are happy to support a great organization like VON Oxford.
"We're thrilled with the success of the 2017 Growing Women's Health campaign. Each year, our customers and staff demonstrate their generosity and their commitment to supporting women in our community, and we couldn't be more proud of everyone's contribution. VON Sakura House plays an important role in our community and the proceeds from this year's campaign will go a long way to helping them further that work."
Fund Development Manager for VON Oxford Catherine Dorais-Plesko says they are honoured to receive this money.
"First of all we feel very fortunate, it's amazing that the Shoppers Drug Mart in Oxford County believe in the services and programs that are offered at VON Sakura House. It is also a testament to everyone in the County who are so generous to donate to the cause."
She explains how they will use this money at VON Sakura House.
"VON Sakura House is a 10 bed residential Hospice and in particular over the holidays, it's a very difficult time for families who are facing end of life care and we are very happy that with this money, we can continue to offer the service to support the patients and our programs such as grief and bereavement support for the family members."
