A single vehicle accident in East Zorra Tavistock has claimed the life of a 68-year-old man. Oxford County OPP and the Tavistock Fire Department responded to the 13th Line of the township just north of Maplewood Side Road just before 12:30pm yesterday. A 1977 Ford Landau was travelling southbound on the 13th Line when it left the roadway and struck the cement bridge abutment on the west side of the road. The 13th Line was closed between Maplewood Side Road and Woodstock Street South for close to eight hours yesterday as police and the Traffic Investigation Team investigated. The driver died at the scene. His identity is not being released until his next of kin are notified.
