The Special Investigations Unit was notified after an incident occurred during an arrest in Brant County yesterday.
BRANT COUNTY - The Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate after OPP arrested a suspect in Brant County.
Brant OPP were called out to a business on Brant Road shortly after midnight yesterday after an alarm went off.
Officers located two suspects once they arrived. They managed to arrest one but the other fled the scene. OPP say an incident occurred during their interaction with the suspect, so the SIU was notified.
The SIU invokes their mandate whenever there is a circumstance involving police and civilians that has resulted in serious injury, death or allegations of sexual assault.
