The City of Woodstock is looking for students to help with a new program clearing driveways and walkways in the winter.
WOODSTOCK - A new program in the City of Woodstock will help people stay safe this winter.
The Snow Buddies initiative pairs young people between 12 and 17 with senior citizens and people who might not otherwise be able to clear their walkways for other reasons.
Supervisor of Recreation, Programs, and Sponsorships Emma Vondervoort encourages people to get involved - youth can choose to either get paid, or bank those hours to count against their community service requirements for high school
"Right now we have quite a few seniors registered which is great. Next on my list is really trying to aim toward the youth and try to get them involved as well and see the benefit in it for themselves."
Anyone interested in taking part can call the Aquatic Centre at 519-421-7665 or register online at cityofwoodstock.ca
