Low garbage costs and the construction of the new emergency building in Beachville are highlights of a good year for Southwest Oxford.
OXFORD COUNTY - Southwest Oxford has had a quiet, but a good year. Garbage has cost less than expected which Mayor of Southwest Oxford, David Mayberry is proud of. The building of the new emergency building in Beachville however, is his highlight of the year. Mayberry is looking forward to the completion of the building in 2018.
He also looks forward to pushing Fiber Optics and Natural Gas more into the community.
"We have a couple of projects around natural gas, trying to lower the greenhouse gas emmisions by using natural gas over oil in a couple of buildings. So those things, though they seem small, they're always small steps in the right direction and I am fairly pleased to see that."
Mayberry would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
