OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 19 new cases of the virus this morning and 19 recoveries.
We currently have 128 active cases with most of them in Norwich Township, Aylmer and St. Thomas. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:
Norwich Township - 21
Tillsonburg - 11
Woodstock - 10
Ingersoll - 8
Blandford-Blenheim - 7
East Zorra-Tavistock - 4
Zorra Township - 3
South-West Oxford - 1
St. Thomas - 24
Aylmer - 22
Bayham - 14
Central Elgin - 1
West Elgin - 2
We currently have 3 people in the hospital with the virus including 2 in the ICU.
The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 17% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic.
