OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 6 new cases of the virus this morning and 1 recovery.
Since Friday the health unit has confirmed 29 new cases in the region and 12 recoveries. We currently have 70 active cases with most of them in Woodstock. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:

Blandford-Blenheim - 1
South-West Oxford - 1

To date we have had 10 institutional outbreaks at Long Term Care Homes. The health unit has recently declared the outbreaks at the Bethany Long Term Care Home in Norwich, and the Arches Transitional Bed Program as resolved. We only have one active outbreak right now at the Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock where 1 staff member has tested positive. We currently have 2 people in the hospital with COVID-19 in our region and one of them is in the ICU.
The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 18% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic.
